Minowa-san's tall vases are always memorable. The very unpredictable niji-yuu (rainbow glaze) effects of his iron glaze means that even Mr. Minowa doesn't know exactly what he'll see when he opens his kiln. You'll never see an identical vase.
You'll want to display this whether or not you have any flowers in the house. But it works well for tall-stemmed flowers such as roses and tulips, as well as seasonal arrangements of pussy willow or thin, twisty young tree branches.
