This small plate, roughly 8-10cm in diameter, can be used as a "tori-zara" to place foods as you take them from the center of the table. But Mr. Akutsu has given it a more contemporary description, and refers to it as a "saucer plate" instead of the more common "kozara".
The texture of the iron glaze is earthy but contemporary.
